7th Annual MICE Forum – Analyzing the Industry

The Yellow B immersed itself in the vibrant atmosphere of the 7th Annual FORO MICE Conference, held in Madrid on March 13, which drew an audience of more than 150 industry professionals. Under the theme “Putting the Spotlight on the Sector,” the event provided a dynamic setting for the exchange of ideas and experiences in the meetings and events industry.

One of the most notable presentations was given by César González, president of AEVEA, who, together with Jaime Montero Gª-Andrade of BROSETA in the labor sector, and Onofre Vicente Martín, Vice President of OPC Spain and President of Opce Vasca, explored the key elements of a “Collective Bargaining Agreement for Meeting and Event Organizers.” They highlighted the complexity of reaching a broad consensus in a sector as diverse as MICE, but praised AEVEA’s initiative as a crucial step toward operational standardization and regulatory adaptation to the sector’s specific needs.

The event was also attended by Matilde Almandoz Ríos, President of FORO MICE and OPC ESPAÑA; Luis Martín Izquierdo, Director General of Tourism for the Community of Madrid; and Carlos Alonso, Director of the Madrid Marriott Auditorium & Conference Center. In addition, local officials led a discussion on the crucial role of MICE destinations in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17).
